Justin Foscue hit a two-run home run, and Wyatt Langford, Josh Jung and Michael Helman added solo shots to lead the Texas Rangers to a 10-0 win over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday in Arlington, Texas.
Ezequiel Duran was 4-for-5 with a double, one run and three RBIs, and Jacob deGrom (5-4) carried a shutout into the sixth inning as Texas took two of three games in the series.
deGrom scattered three hits, walked two and struck out three in his 87-pitch outing.
Jake Burger was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Jung had two hits for Texas, which had 16 hits in the blowout win.
Steven Kwan notched two hits for the Guardians.
In the first, Jung singled and scored when Foscue hammered a low fastball 417 feet to left field for a 2-0 lead.
The Rangers took a 6-0 lead with a four-run third that featured four hits. With one out, the Rangers extended their lead to 3-0 when Jung lined his eighth homer of the season to the opposite field. After Joc Pederson flied out, Brandon Nimmo doubled off the left field wall and Foscue walked to put runners on first and second.
Duran's two-run double scored Nimmo and Foscue. Burger's slow roller to third base led to an infield hit that knocked in Duran and extended the Rangers' advantage to 6-0.
Texas took a 7-0 lead in the fourth when Langford scorched a line-drive home run to left field.
As the Rangers' offense amassed its lead, deGrom's strong outing featured a seven-pitch, 1-2-3 fourth.
Angel Martinez and Kwan started the fifth with consecutive singles. With one out, Martinez advanced to third when Brayan Rocchio flied out. After Travis Bazzana walked to load the bases, deGrom escaped the jam by fanning Jose Ramirez.
Peyton Gray, Tyler Alexander and Luis Curvelo each pitched a scoreless inning to secure the shutout.
Helman's homer led off the sixth, and Texas led 8-0. Evan Carter and Duran added RBI singles in the eighth.
Guardians starter Joey Cantillo (4-3) allowed seven runs on nine hits while walking two and striking out seven in five innings.
