Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will return to the lineup for Sunday afternoon's game against the Capitals in Washington, D.C.
The forward has been sidelined since sustaining a lower-body injury during Colorado's 5-4 shootout victory over the Dallas Stars on March 6.
'It's good to have him back,' Avalanche coach Jared Bednar said Sunday before puck drop. 'We've got a lot of these top-six wingers out of the lineup right now. We've brought them all with us on the road. They're all making progress. Landeskog will go (this afternoon) and then hopefully we can continue to add guys here on this road trip. But he'll make a significant difference for us here (today), and it's good to see him back healthy and still with some runway to go here before the playoffs.'
Landeskog, 33, has 29 points (nine goals, 20 assists) in 47 games this season.
A 2022 Stanley Cup winner with Colorado, Landeskog missed three full regular seasons from 2022-25 because of issues with his right knee and multiple surgeries that included a cartilage transplant on May 10, 2023.
