Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels sustained a left arm injury and exited in the fourth quarter of the 38-14 home loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night.
On second-and-goal at the 2 with 7:39 left in regulation, Daniels was sacked by Drake Thomas for a 2-yard loss and sustained what Washington coach Dan Quinn confirmed after the game is a left elbow injury. The training staff immobilized the arm and Daniels was able to walk off the field.
Daniels completed 16 of 22 passes for 153 yards and one interception in his return after missing one game with a hamstring injury. He also rushed 10 times for 51 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown run near the end of the second quarter.
Following an official timeout due to the injury, the Commanders scored on the next play when Chris Rodriguez ran in from 4 yards for a touchdown, but the Seahawks still led 38-14.
Seattle, winners of three straight, improved to 6-2 while Washington fell to 3-6 with its fourth consecutive loss.
Daniels, 24, missed Washington's 28-7 loss last Monday night to the Kansas City Chiefs because of a right hamstring strain.
The second-year quarterback suffered that injury in the third quarter of a 44-22 road loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 19. He also sat out two games earlier this season with a knee sprain sustained in a 27-18 Week 2 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The 2024 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Daniels entered Sunday having thrown for 1,031 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception in five games (all starts) this season with 211 rushing yards and one rushing score.
