Brad Marchand scored the only goal of the shootout to give the Florida Panthers a 4-3 win over the Dallas Stars on Saturday night in Sunrise, Fla.
Marchand also scored in regulation along with Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett for the Panthers. Sergei Bobrovsky made 19 saves.
Mikko Rantanen had a goal and an assist and Wyatt Johnston and Justin Hryckowian also connected for the Stars, who stretched their point streak to six games (3-0-3). Sam Steel assisted on all three tallies and Casey DeSmith stopped 25 shots.
Rantanen tied it 3-3 with a backhand tip-in with 2:41 remaining in regulation. It was his fifth goal of the season.
Bennett had given Florida a 3-2 lead with 7:34 left when he tapped in a loose puck in the crease.
Dallas scored two power play goals in 14 seconds in the latter stages of the second period to tie the game, 2-2.
Florida defenseman Seth Jones had just gone off for a high-sticking double minor when Johnston connected on a one-timer from the bottom of the left circle to make it 2-1 with 5:13 left in the middle period.
Hryckowian then tipped in a shot from the point for his first NHL goal in his 16th game to tie the contest.
The Panthers took a 2-0 lead early in the second period, also on successive shots.
Marchand scored from the left circle off the rush, 1:48 into the second to open the scoring with his sixth goal and Reinhart put in a shot from the right corner along the goal line at 4:02. It was also his sixth goal and the 300th of Reinhart's career.
The 12-year veteran has a goal in four consecutive games.
It was a close-checking first period, which only saw 10 shots on goal, five by each team. But the Panthers had the play in the Stars' zone for much of the first 20 minutes.
Defenseman Donovan Sebrango made his debut with Florida after being claimed off waivers from the Ottawa Senators.
