PLANO, Texas: Toyota Motor is recalling nearly 394,000 vehicles in the United States to fix a rearview camera defect that could cause the display to fail, reducing driver visibility and raising the risk of crashes, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Tuesday.
The recall covers certain 2022 to 2025 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid models, as well as 2023–2025 Sequoia Hybrid vehicles, according to the auto safety regulator.
NHTSA said the issue could prevent the rearview image from appearing on the vehicle's display screen when reversing.
Toyota dealers will update the vehicles' multimedia display software free of charge, the agency said.
