Pressed into service when starting goalkeeper Michael Collodi was shown a red card for a takedown in the box in the 16th minute, backup Jacob Jackson and visiting FC Dallas were peppered with shots by St. Louis City FC.But FC Dallas managed to earn a 1-1 draw Saturday night at Energizer Park, keeping pace in the chase for the last playoff position in the Western Conference.Jackson saved 11 shots though St. Louis City had a 41-5 advantage in shots for the match, 14-2 in shots on goal. Fittingly, Jackson saved a Brendan McSorley shot in the fourth minute of second-half stoppage time, just before the match ended.FC Dallas (7-11-10, 31 points) has played better of late, with three draws and a win in its last five matches.Petar Musa scored for FC Dallas in the 35th minute to tie the score, moments after Celio Pompeu scored with a right-footed shot from the center of the top of the box.Musa has scored seven goals in his last seven matches, part of his team-leading total of 14, despite nagging injuries that limited him to only eight minutes off the bench in FC Dallas' last game.FC Dallas has earned 19 points through 14 away matches (4-3-7).St. Louis City (5-17-7, 22 points) has a win and draw in its last six matches, but missed a chance to gain some ground on FC Dallas and other teams above it in the West. Pompeu has three goals in 25 matches for St. Louis City this season. The club is rapidly falling out of playoff contention in the Western Conference in what has been a difficult season for the young club.--Field Level Media
