NASCAR Cup Series driver Austin Dillon and wife Whitney welcomed their first child, the couple announced on social media Sunday morning.
Whitney Dillon gave birth to a boy named Ace.
Austin Dillon, 30, is scheduled to start 16th in the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet for Sunday's Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
AJ Allmendinger had been on standby to race in his place, however Dillon's post on Instagram indicated that he would be behind the wheel on Sunday afternoon.
"Hardest thing I've ever had to do was say goodbye to go race today," Dillon wrote. "Hopefully we bring back a trophy for Ace on the first day we welcomed him into this world!"
